Goal 1: Student Achievement: Student achievement will exceed state standards

Objectives:
  • Update, maintain and continuously align the curriculum to state content expectations, including GLCE’s, ECLCE’s, HSCE’s and EHSCE’s.
  • Develop and implement academic policies which support student achievement improvement.
  • Implement writing strategies at all levels.
  • Provide opportunities to improve study skills and practice MEAP/MME –like testing.
  • Achieve MI-SAS accreditation.


Goal 2: Finance: Ensure financial stability.

Objectives:
  • Support all district and regional efforts to raise funding for K-12 education.
  • Allocate resources that support achievement of district strategic goals.
  • Maintain enrollment levels to ensure funding stability.
  • Set fund balance minimum.


Goal 3: Facilities: Ensure facilities, equipment and technology allow for a productive learning environment.

Objectives
  • Maintain a maintenance plan.
  • Maintain a technology plan which ensures necessary technology upgrades.
  • Prioritization of projects.


Goal 4: Communication: Establish and maintain effective communications.

Objectives:
  • Develop a plan that ensures effective strategies to communicate with internal staff, with parents and with community members that are consistent in message and focuses on the positive and provides accurate financial data.
  • Implement a minimum of bi-weekly update to staff related to instruction, district operations and budget.
  • Provide an opportunity for public comment through community meetings and/or coffee with the superintendent on a bi-monthly basis.
  • Cultivate parent involvement by establishing an inviting environment for parents at all levels.
  • Enhance collaboration among staff and between buildings.
  • Post monthly Superintendent Letter on website.
  • Conduct Board meetings in another area (once a quarter in Bunker Hill, Onondaga, Rives and Leslie Townships).

Goal 5: Excellence and Pride: Achieve educational excellence and community pride with staff, students and parents.

Objectives:
  • Provide relevant, professional learning opportunities.
  • Identify and implement expectations for student success.
  • Develop and implement an effective performance evaluation system.
  • Create and nurture partnerships with business and civic groups within the community.
