Annual Notification:  Leslie Public Schools follows an integrated pest management (IPM) approach. This method prioritizes techniques like improved sanitation and pest exclusion to control pests, with the goal of minimizing the need for pesticides.

The State of Michigan requires schools to notify parents and guardians about certain pesticide applications.

  • Advance Notice: You will receive at least 48 hours' notice before any non-emergency application of an insecticide, fungicide, or herbicide. This notice will be posted at the main school entrance, and on the main office door.

  • Emergency Applications: In emergency situations, such as an infestation of stinging insects, pesticides may be applied without advance notice to ensure student safety. You will be notified afterward.

For more information regarding the district’s IPM program and record of pesticide application(s), or to request notifications by mail,  contact Dave Medcoff at 517-589-9500 or dave.medcoff@lesliek12.net.
