Leslie High School
Welcome to Leslie High School, home of the Blackhawks!
Leslie is a four-year comprehensive high school, founded in 1837, with a current enrollment of about 352 students. Our school has a reputation for rigorous academics and an extensive co-curricular program that is valued by the community. We have a rich tradition of hosting exchange students. Leslie is large enough to offer Advanced Placement, multiple foreign languages, band, choir, drama, and other elective classes, while at the same time, small enough so every student is noticed and cared for. The staff takes great pride in maintaining a school that builds character by being respectful, responsible, and ready.
My name is Todd Gonser, new principal of Leslie High School. After spending the past 3 1/2 years as Leslie Middle School Principal, I have been given the opportunity to be the new LHS Principal after Mr. Powers moved to the superintendent. My background includes 35 years in education in a variety of roles.
Some of the roles I have held include classroom teacher, coach, 7-12 assistant principal/athletic director, Jr./Sr. high school principal grades 7-12, school improvement/MTSS administrator, 504 Coordinator, alternative/adult education principal, and working in the elementary building 1 day a week. My academic background includes a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership K-12, a Bachelor of Arts in secondary teaching, and a Certificate of Completion in the Aspiring Superintendent Series.
As the parent of three successful adult children, I recognize the importance of a strong home to school connection. Parents are every child’s first teacher, and I believe that by working together, we can make sure your child’s needs are met. I look forward to this new opportunity in the Hawks Family!
